These COMP Cams Xtreme Duty Hi-Tech belt drives represent the ultimate in cam timing. These drives are designed to absorb a significant amount of crankshaft harmonics, which will affect valve motion if they reach the valvetrain. These systems require less power to operate than conventional belt drives and are proven to be more durable than either gear or chain drives. Xtreme Duty Hi-Tech belt drives are ideally suited for high-horsepower drag racing, marine, and competition pulling applications. These belt drives feature a 1 1/4 in. Goodyear belt to handle the extreme cylinder pressures commonly found with nitrous and blower applications. The unique belt idler system helps resist belt failure that can lead to complete engine destruction. These Xtreme Duty belt drive systems are fully compatible with front drive distributors and most performance harmonic dampers.
