The torque retention is gained through premium materials comprising four distinct components--core, facing, coating, and armor--and the process used in the manufacture of the gaskets. Fel-Pro PermaTorque head gaskets have been proven to retain the highest torque retention significantly better than other brands. These composite-style gaskets compress at installation to conform to and seal minor surface imperfections, while retaining the ability to resist or recover from compression during engine operation. The result is a clamping force and a secure seal over a long period of time--without retorquing.
