Air Flow Research (AFR) 1388 heads are an ideal performance upgrade for 302-393 cubic-inch engines operating in the 6,000-6,500 rpm range. Part of the AFR 185 SBF Renegade line, these heads feature ported intake runners, exhaust ports, and combustion chambers for street/strip use and are made of high-quality aluminum, allowing for a lighter-weight build. They include 8mm valve stems paired with 2.020 in. intake and 1.600 in. exhaust valves and feature a combustion chamber volume of 58cc, an exhaust port volume of 68cc, an intake runner volume of 185cc, and a ¾ in. head deck.

Viable applications for this model include Ford 4.7L/289 (1963-68), 5.0L/302 (1968-95), and 5.8L/351 (1969-95) engines featuring stud-mount rocker arms. Please note that these heads will not accept rail rocker arms and hardened push rods are required.
